Wherever you are in your career journey, an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) can help you plan for a better retirement by building your retirement funds.

Unlike most investments, IRA contributions may be tax-deductible and will grow either tax-deferred or tax-free depending on the type of IRA you choose. Spectrum Credit Union offers both Traditional and Roth IRAs in a liquid savings plan or in higher-yield share certificates in a variety of terms.

Consult with your financial advisor to find out which IRA plan is right for you.*

Types of IRAs

Traditional IRA
Traditional IRAs may provide immediate tax benefits, with contributions and/or earnings tax-deferred until retirement (depending on the availability of your employer-based retirement plan and your income level at time of retirement).

Roth IRA
With a Roth IRA, you have the opportunity to invest your after-tax dollars today, let the investment grow tax-deferred, then withdraw your principal and earnings — tax-free — after five years. (You may be subject to a 10 percent penalty on the earnings if taken before age 59 ½.)
