Three Ideas to Help Celebrate Mother’s Day
May 8, 2020 by Spectrum Credit Union
This Sunday is Mother’s Day and some of us may be wondering how we’re going to celebrate it with all that’s going on in the world. Just because it’ll be different doesn’t mean it can’t be a special day. Here are a few ideas to help celebrate Mother’s Day.
Make a Card
There’s a chance you can still head to the store and buy a card, but for those that are unable to, a homemade card goes a long way. Try not to hold yourself to the level of a professional Hallmark Mother’s Day card; as your mom may say, “It’s the thought that counts.”
If your card-making skills just won’t cut it or you won’t be able to get it to your mom on time, an electronic card can work as well. Heart-felt to hilarious, you can email your mom a letter with personalized notes and images to make her day.
Have Something Delivered
If you’re a gift giver and your mom isn’t too worried about deliveries, it’s not too late to have something sent right to her front door. You could go with classics like flowers or sweets or even hybrid those with an edible arrangement. Because delivery is in such high demand, you may want to think about ordering sooner rather than later.
Zoom or FaceTime
Just because some of us can’t see our mom’s this weekend doesn’t mean we can’t “see” them. Set up a time on any virtual app to wish your mom a happy Mother’s Day. If you have some family traditions, try and find a way to do them virtually. Cook a meal together, watch a movie, even go for a (socially distanced) walk together. Be there with her, even if it’s virtually.
Although this Mother’s Day may be different due to the current state of affairs, it doesn’t mean we can’t make it a special one. Take this opportunity to find fun and creative ways to say thanks to the wonderful person you call “Mom.”
